Andrew graduated from one of Australia's most prestigious law schools with first class Honours, and began his career as a solicitor at a large, top tier law firm in Sydney's CBD. This role granted him experience across a broad range of areas of law, including intellectual property and competition law, and involved work on a complex Constitutional challenge, which was heard in the High Court.
Despite the excitement of Big City Firm life, Andrew a born-and-bred North Shore boy wanted to work in his local area, both to be nearer to his family, and to help the local community, a cause he has always been passionate about. (Indeed, Andrew is heavily involved in several local institutions, including the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra as a violinist.)For this reason, Andrew was thrilled at the opportunity to join PW Lawyers (then Proctor Willaws) in 2012 as an Associate. He enjoys the opportunity to work with the local community and to assist with the wide variety of legal issues which present themselves during everyday life.
Having been mentored by John Buttfield, Andrew is extremely experienced in all areas of Wills and Estate law, including will drafting, Estate litigation and family provision claims. He is also highly skilled in conveyancing and property law.Prior to studying law, Andrew was an engineer for more than fifteen years (with his engineering degree also bestowed upon with Honours, from one of Australia's most prestigious universities). In this previous life, Andrew worked extensively as an engineer and project manager at major multi-national companies, including Optus.
The rare combination of an engineer and a lawyer in one person grants Andrew unique insight, and an unsurpassed ability to solve complex problems. The old adage that lawyers are no good at mathematics does not apply to Andrew!Andrew is dedicated to the best possible outcome for his clients and is renowned for his consummate professionalism and legal knowledge, as well as his compassion, understanding, and his sense of humour.
