Ananya Jana

Solicitor

Ananya originally began her legal career in India, where she practised for over seven years in property law, family law, and civil litigation along with appearances in the District Court. She later moved to Australia and studied law through the Law Extension Committee of Sydney University whilst working in migration law, assisting clients with partner visas, temporary skill shortage visas, and skilled migration matters.

Ananya now focuses her practice on wills and estates, property law, and family law.

Fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali, Ananya is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and is still enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of India.

Outside of her legal practice, Ananya has worked with NGOs in India supporting people with special needs and has organised legal aid camps in rural West Bengal in collaboration with local agencies to assist low-income communities. Ananya is actively involved in community service as an accomplished Odissi (Indian classical) dancer, founder of her own dance troupe, and has volunteered as a tutor at Wesley School for Seniors.
